5 days....time has been ADDED to our clock!!
After another hour and a half on the phone with Delta tonight, Jim was amazingly successful at not only getting them to route us not through Japan, but at getting an WAAYYYY better flight for us. Oh and the best part...a way better flight for no change in cost! The only curve it throws us is that we now leave two days later, on March 17 instead. However, the good news for us is that we get to take a direct flight from Detroit to Shanghai and only fly for 14 hours instead of 24 hours through 3 cities with layovers! Now we get on our plane at 4:45pm and get off at what feels like 7:30 the next morning in our final destination. It will of course be 12 hours ahead of that on China time. So, while everyone is setting their clocks ahead tonight, we set our countdown clock BACK by two days!

It's a bummer that you now leave 2 days later, but YAY for a way better flight!!!! What day do you plan to pick up Lydia and what day do you leave to fly home? I'm assuming that you won't be able to update your blog in China... I'd like to say a few extra prayers for your family on those days. <3 you! Mel

ReplyDeleteWe get Lydia on March 23rd, we leave for home on April 7. We are hoping to update our blog while we are there. We have a couple of options set up for VPN since Blogger is blocked in China. But we sure plan to keep it up to date! We also need to post our itinerary somewhere on the blog so people know what's happening which day! Thanks for the prayers!
